BAR HARBOR, MAINE – The h2o tower on the campus of the Schoodic Institute in the Schoodic District of Acadia National Park will be repainted involving September 7 and September 24, 2021. Painting the drinking water tower is portion of its common servicing and will return it to the first pale light inexperienced shade. The drinking water tower provides potable water and fireplace protection to the campus. Although the water tower is remaining repainted, a back again-up water tank will provide the campus. The water tower is 90-feet tall and holds 150,000 gallons.
The Schoodic District was extra to Acadia Nationwide Park in 1929. Involving 1935 and 2002, the U.S. Navy operated a communications base at Schoodic Level and made the water tower in the 1950s. In 2002, the Countrywide Park Service obtained the navy base and transformed the services to a analysis learning middle operated in partnership with the Schoodic Institute.
