Grand Canyon, Ariz. –On Saturday, August 28, at close to 4:19 p.m., the Grand Canyon Regional Communications Centre acquired a report of an injured non-industrial river trip participant in the Deer Creek Narrows inside of Grand Canyon Countrywide Park. The participant fell roughly 50 feet even though on a hike in the narrows and could not be positioned by members of the river excursion.  

Multiple groups of Countrywide Park Service (NPS) technological and swiftwater rescuers ended up flown into the web site the evening of August 28 even so, because of to terrain, darkness, and basic safety considerations they had been not able to find the particular person.

On Sunday, August 29, NPS personnel positioned the particular person, David Colburn, 48, of Tygh Valley, Oregon. Colburn was found deceased and recovered by rescue staff and transported by means of helicopter to the South Rim. An investigation into the incident is being executed by the NPS and the Coconino County Health-related Examiner’s Office environment.
