Grand Canyon, AZ This is the closing update for the Thumb Fireplace until circumstances improve drastically. The Thumb Fireplace is 100% contained. The remaining acreage described for the hearth is 8,354.

At 5:00 pm yesterday the Thumb Fire switched to observe position. The hearth region acquired important precipitation very last 7 days and even extra rain over the weekend. Yesterday a reconnaissance flight ensured that containment traces were being secure and no smoke was detected. All methods have been released but the fire will continued to be monitored aerially.
