Grand Canyon, AZ – The Thumb Fire is roughly 6,200 acres. Development yesterday was mostly in the southern part of the hearth perimeter. Fire conduct was energetic with one tree torching and floor fireplace of a few to four foot flames wherever the hearth was consuming grass.

At this time there are no closures in the park. Grand Canyon Nationwide Park is offering interagency aid to the Truxton Canon Agency and the Havasupai Tribe. Sources assigned consist of two engines, a source advisor, the Southern Paiute Company source module, and two style just one helicopters.
