GRAND CANYON, Ariz. – On Wednesday, March 3, National Park Service staff situated a human body and motorcycle underneath the South Kaibab Trailhead right after a multi-day search and rescue procedure. 

Park rangers recovered the overall body which was located somewhere around 465 ft. beneath the rim. The physique was transported to the rim by helicopter and transferred to the Coconino County Health care Examiner’s Office environment. Centered on evidence uncovered with the entire body, the individual is believed to be missing individual John Pennington.   

John Pennington, 40, of Walton, Kentucky, was thought to have entered Grand Canyon on or all over February 23, 2021 and abandoned his particular motor vehicle near Yaki Level. An investigation into the incident is becoming carried out by the Nationwide Park Assistance and the Coconino County Clinical Examiner.
