BAR HARBOR, MAINE – The Duck Brook Motor Bridge driving lanes will be temporarily reduced to one lane of travel on Tuesday August 24, from 9 am to 5 pm. This will allow contractors access to the bridge’s interior ahead of publishing bids for an upcoming construction undertaking.
The Duck Brook Motor Street Bridge is a triple arch bridge spanning the deep Duck Brook ravine. The bridge, made in 1950-53, is hollow and faced with rough slash granite. The bridge is the past significant bridge produced in the park as part of the historic motor road. It is thought of qualified for the National Register of Historic Spots and is a contributing element to the nationally important Historic Motor Highway System.
