Acadia National Park is Delaying Acadia Advisory Commission Meeting in Response to State Health Guidance

BAR HARBOR, ME – Acadia Countrywide Park, in reaction to guidance from the Point out of Maine Division of Overall health and Human Expert services, is announcing further modifications to operations to help federal, state, and area initiatives to sluggish the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).  The Acadia Countrywide Park Advisory Commission previously scheduled to meet at park headquarters (20 McFarland Hill Generate) in Bar Harbor at 1 – 3 pm on Monday June 1, 2020 has been delayed till more observe.

“The wellness and protection of our people, workforce, volunteers, local communities, and partners at Acadia Nationwide Park is our quantity one particular precedence,” said Superintendent Kevin Schneider. “It is not practicable to convene the Acadia Nationwide Park Advisory Commission in-individual at this time.”

Congress designed the Acadia Countrywide Park Advisory Fee in 1986 to consult with the Nationwide Park Assistance on matters relating to the administration and development of the park, which include, but not confined to, the acquisition of lands and interests in lands. The Fee is comprised of 16 customers with 3 members appointed by the Secretary of Inside, 3 users appointed by the Governor of Maine, and one particular member appointed by each of the following cities: Bar Harbor, Cranberry Isles, Frenchboro, Gouldsboro, Mount Desert, Southwest Harbor, Swans Island, Tremont, Trenton, and Wintertime Harbor. 

The next meeting of the Acadia Nationwide Park Advisory Fee, when printed to the Federal Register, is tentatively prepared for the thirty day period of September.
